Chapter 18

"Vihaan and Arya just left Neha's cabin and headed towards Ashvi's room. As they entered, Arya's gaze fell on Shreyansh, who was sitting in a chair looking down. She felt a bit scared being near him, so she paused and instinctively clutched her saree. Vihaan, noticing her expression, gently took her hand and guided her to sit on a chair, saying, '

"come.""' Arya's attention shifted from Shreyansh to Yuvan inside Ashvi's room, where she could see him holding Ashvi's hand. She observed Yuvan crying, caressing Ashvi's hand, and kissing her forehead. This sight puzzled Arya, making her wonder about the connection between them. Suddenly, a voice beside her stated,

"'He loves her,'"" and when she turned, she saw it was Shreyansh. It startled her, causing her to move a bit back as she met his gaze...

" His words took her off guard, one shock after another as she was introduced to new information.

" 'My brother has had a feelings for Ashvi since college, but never had the chance to tell her how he truly felt. By the time he finally mustered up the courage, she had already moved on and now, when they crossed paths again after all these years, she was with your brother, breaking his heart,' Shreyansh explained, his voice tinged with sorrow. 'He was trying to move on, but this reality has hit him hard. He's devastated because Ashvi is hurting. He empathizes with her pain and loves her deeply,""' he continued before turning his gaze away, causing Arya's heart to soften as she watched Yuvaan gently kiss Ashvi's forehead.

"'God, please heal her and bring joy back into her life. Let Yuvaan be the source of that happiness for her, as perhaps only he can fill her life with joy once again,' Arya uttered, clutching Shreyansh finger unknownlying

while gazing at  Ashvi

Shreyansh noticed Arya looking towards Ashvi's room and then their hands resting against each other. Arya noticed and quickly pulled her hand away when she saw Shreyansh looking at her with some odd emotions. Shreyansh took a deep breath and realized that things might not work out between them.

He looked at Arya, whose gaze was fixed on Ashvi and Yuvaan.

" 'I think it's getting late, you guys should head home before uncle and aunty get worried,""' Kunal said, making them turn to look at him.

"'No,' ""they both replied at the same time, causing Vihaan and Kunal to exchange looks.

"Ashvi won't wake up until tomorrow morning, so you should head home. Yuvaan won't leave her side, but if you stay too, it might worry  uncle aunty  It's best if you go now," Vihaan suggested, hoping they'd agree. Kunal chimed in,

"Yeah, you should go home for now and come back tomorrow when Ashvi will wake up." Eventually, they both agreed and got up from their chairs. Arya was still focused on yuvaan who was showing his love for Ashvi  as he kissed her forehead, cried, and gently held her hands. Kunal reassured them,

"Let Yuvaan stay here; I'll make sure to take care of him and Ashvi." Shreyansh nodded in agreement and left...

" go Arya " she come out from her thoughts when she heard Vihaan voice

" she nodded her head and started following Shreyansh

Both of them made it to the parking area where Shreyansh was waiting for Arya in his car. But Arya was feeling scared of Shreyansh, even though she understood that his behavior towards her was understandable. She took a deep breath, settled in the car next to Shreyansh, and looked away as he glanced at her. Both of them stayed silent, with Shreyansh eventually noticing a bandage on Arya's hands, which stirred regret in his heart. As they sat in silence, Shreyansh's gaze shifted between Arya's hands and the road, while Arya kept her focus outside the window. Finally, she decided,

"We should end this. We are not meant for each other. I will talk to him soon to put an end to everything.'

Thinking that if he married me for revenge, he can still take revenge even without the marriage. I'll have a talk with him about ending our marriage. Whatever punishment he gives, I'll take it with a smile. At least that way, he'll be happy and won't feel suffocated around me." Arya thought with a weak smile.

"Shreyansh's words, ""'I regret marrying you,'""" keep echoing in her mind, making her feel suffocated.

________

Yuvaan sat beside Ashvi's bed, staring at her face for hours. He was very worried about her and didn't want to leave her side. His brothers   tried to get him to rest, eat, and change his clothes, but he refused. He just wanted to be near Ashvi.

Kunal came back into the room and said, "Yuvaan, I set up a bed for you here. Please rest. Ashvi will be okay. She just needs sleep. I gave her medicine to help her sleep till morning." Yuvaan smiled weakly and said, "I'm not sleepy yet. I want to be near her."

Kunal left food for Yuvaan and said, "Eat something. Shreyansh sent it for you. Don't forget to take care of yourself too." Yuvaan nodded and whispered, "I'll eat. Don't worry about me." Kunal looked worried but left the room.

How can I feel hungry after seeing her in such a condition?

"I am not feeling hungry nor am I feeling tired "Until she regains consciousness and I don't hear her voice, my heart will not find relaxation. I don't feel like taking my eyes off her face even for a moment. I have to stay with her Right now I just sit next to her and hold her hand. " Yuvaan thought

"He kissed her hand and placed his head near her head still sitting on a chair "

"You have already survived as much pain as you had to endure, now I will not let you endure any pain, I will fill your life with happiness, I promise " he muttered and closed his eyes

He kept his eyes closed like this for a few minutes and don't know when he fell asleep and he fell asleep on the same bed, placing his head near her.

..

No. L-ea-ve m-e pl-e-ase le-ave me vivek lea-ve m-e ple-ase i'm hu-rting you're hu-rti-ng m-e "

," Ashvi said softly, tears streaming down her face. She could see all the painful memories of what Vivek had done to her replaying like a nightmare. Yuvaan, who had been dozing off on a chair beside her, immediately woke up upon hearing her distressed voice.

He reached out to hold her hand, intertwining their fingers, and gently stroked her head to comfort her. Recognizing that she was reliving the past trauma even in her sleep, he reassured her,

"Relax, Ashvi. You're safe. I won't let anything harm you as long as I'm here. Just calm down." His comforting words gradually eased her distress...

"Even though she was still unconscious, she was pleading with Vivek not to hurt her and to spare her parents. Her continuous tears were breaking Yuvan's heart. Witnessing her cry made his own eyes well up with tears. He was doing everything he could to soothe her, but even in her sleep, she couldn't calm down.

"Please, let me go, I can't take it anymore," she murmured weakly.

"Relax, you're safe, my love. Please relax," he whispered lovingly in her ear, giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead. He noticed her calming down a bit, and he sighed in relief.

After that, he wiped away her tears and planted a kiss on her forehead.

"I promise you, Ashvi, I won't let Vivek go. No matter where he hides, I will track him down and make him suffer so much that he will regret every moment of his life," Yuvaan vowed, gazing at her pale face.

In that moment, he felt a bit of relief seeing her calm down without shedding any tears. Yuvan could hear her slow breathing, so he held her close, intertwining their fingers. He didn't even consider leaving her side. He  had been sitting like that for who knows how many hours, beside her bad without eating or drinking anything.

" 'Don't worry, you're not alone. I'm here with you every step of the way,' he reassured softly, placing a kiss on her finger. 'I'm sorry, Ashvi, for not protecting you sooner. But from now on, I won't let anything harm you. Please, stay strong and get better,"""' he whispered. '

"Please recover soon, my love. I hate seeing you like this,'"" he murmured, resting his head against her while listening to her heartbeat, which brought him peace.

______________

Vihaan was heading home after being convinced by Kunal. He had almost reached his house, just 10 minutes away, when he noticed something strange. Trisha was dancing on the roadside with two young boys holding beer bottles. Seeing this, Vihaan sensed that something was not right.

. It was late at night, and he couldn't comprehend why she was out at that hour. Anger simmered within him as he observed the scene. "What is this girl doing?" he fumed. This prompted him to halt the car, step out, and approach them...

"TRISHA " he call out her name in furious tone

"Trisha was totally  drink state and had no idea what was going on around her. She was just in her own little world. But then she heard Vihaan's voice, so she stopped and turned around to see him. "Why do I keep seeing him? He's not really here, but I can't stop seeing him. I must be losing it," she muttered to herself as she rubbed her eyes.

"Let's dance, darling," one of the guys said, catching Vihaan's attention. Without a second thought, he punched both guys.

"Omg, WOW!" Trisha screamed with excitement.

"Vihaan angrily looked at her and pulled her closer.

"What the hell are you doing here, and who are these guys?" he asked furiously, shooting a death glare at them.

"She rubbed her eyes again and gave him a pleading look.

"Are you my grumpy bear?" she asked, not quite believing that Vihaan was really standing in front of her.

"Trisha," Vihaan said, looking into her eyes filled with madness.

"" 'How dare you try to punch us"",' a boy said as he was about to punch Vihaan, but he managed to save himself and twist the boy's hand.

""

'She is drunk, and you both are taking advantage of her inebriation by touching her inappropriately and calling her those names,""' Vihaan said angrily as he twisted both of the boy's hands.

" 'Ahhhhhhh,' the boy yelled in pain, making Trisha giggle. She jumped in excitement and approached Vihaan,

""'One more time, please, one more punch,' she requested,

showing her puppy eyes. Vihaan kicked the two boys one by one, causing them to fall to the ground again. Then he looked angrily at Trisha and asked,

" 'Why did you drink alcohol, and what are you doing here so late at night?'"" Trisha looked at him for a moment, rubbed her forehead against his shoulder, and clenched his shirt on his shoulder. Vihaan kept looking at her  actions with calm face

" 'You think I am drunk?""' she asked, moving her face closer to him, which only seemed to anger him more because of the strong smell of alcohol coming from her mouth; she was completely drunk...

"", Trisha, you are  totally drunk ! Why are you drinking and hanging out here so late at night?" he asked, gripping her neck from behind in a fit of anger, causing tears to well up in her eyes.

" I'm not gonna spill the beans if you keep scolding me like that, you're being mean," she said in between sobs, lightly slapping his chest.

Vihaan's expression softened as soon as he noticed her teary eyes. He let go of her neck and spoke to her in a gentle and loving tone, "Okay, I'm sorry. Now tell me what's up with the alcohol and why are you here?"

"Then, Vihaan spotted those two jittery boys, looking like they'd been up to no good. He seemed ready to catch them red-handed, but they bolted before he could. Trisha grabbed his hand, causing Vihaan to halt in his tracks.

"Alright, do some sit-ups and then maybe I'll spill the beans," she said angrily, hinting at revealing everything once he completed his punishment

Trisha was acting all cute and he was looking at her with soft eyes, just wanting to know what she was up to. He was scared of what might have happened if he hadn't shown up on time. He sensed something fishy about those boys and even though they managed to escape, he was determined to catch them again.

" Trisha,  tell me everything," he asked in soft tone.

"I'm not telling you anything. You're mean," she retorted as she pushed him away and walked off, leaving him exasperated.

Observing her behavior, Vihaan realized she must be intoxicated. He reminded himself to stay calm, to try to understand her, and to play along because she wouldn't spill the truth so easily. He needed to handle the situation carefully since she was under the influence.

"Stop !! I am doing  sit-ups" He said in a heavy voice because he knew that maybe he will win over the world but he will not be able to win over this girl, he have to accept defeat forever in front of her now

Trisha playfully chirped and joined Vihaan, eagerly waiting for their turn to do sit-ups. Seeing the empty space around them, Vihaan began the exercise.

"Hey, hold your ear," she pointed out, noticing he had forgotten. He quickly corrected himself and followed her instructions as she started counting out loud...

"Stop  " she made him stop vihaan sign in relief and hold her hand..

" Let's go to car " we , ll talk their " he said about to drugged her with him but she stop him and said

" I don't want to go like this so take me in your arms" she said and he look at her in disbelief

"Trisha, I did what you said - no more drama, just come quietly," he scolded her.

Trisha replied in an angry voice,

"No, I'll  not come." Despite feeling defeated, he held her in his arms and started moving towards the car. He found himself following all her orders without really understanding why. It was the first time he had tolerated so many tantrums from a girl.

After that, Trisha remained silent, smiling at Vihaan as she put her hands around his neck. They soon reached the car, where Vihaan helped her into the passenger seat before taking the driver's seat.

"Now tell me everything, the truth," he asked. Vihaan knew that Trisha might speak the truth in that moment, as people tend to be more honest when they're drunk.

" "Those two boys were supposed to be my friends. We were a group of around 10 people hanging out at a restaurant for a birthday party. Somehow, it ended up with me and my one more friend left alone with these two guys who are supposed to be my friends. But then, my friend Niddhi ditched me too by leaving me alone with these guys. I wanted to go with her, but she just went away, saying she's going to the bathroom. I waited for her, but she never came back. Suddenly, I started feeling dizzy and seeing things blurry, so I followed her out of the restaurant. I was waiting for a taxi, and those two boys started following me," she explained with hand gestures, pausing briefly and gazing at Vihaan with a sleepy smile.

"Go on... I want to hear the whole story," he urged her calmly.

"I always had a weird feeling about those two guys. They're not my closest friends, and I just get bad vibes from them. So, when I found myself alone with them, I decided to leave. But then, they started following me," she continued.

"Then... vihaan" asked

Vihaan was listening to all of it very calmly, but as he heard everything, he started to get angry. The veins on his hands were bulging, suggesting his suspicions were right - those two boys had ill intentions regarding Trisha.

"But you never told me why you drank," Vihaan asked, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"She gazed at him with her innocent eyes, moving her face closer to his. She cupped his face and looked into his eyes.

"I promise I didn't have alcohol, just juice," she told him with a smile, resting her forehead against his. Making his heartbeat race

"Believe me, I didn't drink alcohol," she said sleepily, closing her eyes and falling onto his chest...

Then he heard Trisha snoring, realizing she was asleep. He decided to let her sleep and planned to drop her off safely at her apartment before heading to her place. Gently, he held her face, laid her on the seat, and fastened her seat belt. Looking at her face for a moment, he felt a mix of mystery and attraction. The more he tried to distance himself from Trisha, the more drawn he felt. He couldn't explain why being close to her brought him peace. Her smile warmed his heart, and even her playful antics seemed endearing despite claiming they annoyed him. Softly murmuring, Vihaan said,

""Please don't do this to me; it'll only bring you pain in the future. I don't want you to get hurt because of me," as he started the car...

_______________

, Shreyansh and Arya are finally back home. Shreyansh parked the car, and they both got out to head inside without saying a word to each other. When they saw their parents in the living room, it was clear that something was up. Abhinash seemed upset, like he had questions, and Soumya's eyes were fixed on them. Shreyansh broke the silence by asking, ""'You guys are still up?'

Soumya responded, ""'We needed to talk to you both.""'

Shreyansh could sense his father's intense gaze and was about to approach them. "'What's up? Tell us,'"" Shreyansh said, with Arya nodding in agreement.

Let's do it in the morning, it's pretty late now, and you guys seem tired. Go rest, I'll send your food to the room," Soumya said while calming Abhinash down by grabbing his shirt for now. Shreyansh and Arya found the way those people were looking at them, especially how Abhinash seemed a bit angry, a little strange.

"Go," Soumya said again, and they both nodded, about to leave until Abhinash's voice stopped them.

"It's late, and Yuvan isn't home. Shreyansh, where is he? You probably know since he shares everything with you," Abhinash asked softly.

"Shreyansh and Arya exchanged a glance, and Shreyansh lied, 'Yuvan is at the hospital. One of his friends had surgery, so he's there. He'll be back soon. You all go and rest.'"

"Abhinash and Soumya nodded, and they also left. Shreyansh and Arya sighed in relief, feeling fortunate they didn't get caught...

"Both of them went to their room where Arya used the bathroom. A few minutes later, when he came out, he found Shreyansh already lying on the bed. Then Arya noticed the untouched food, probably left by a servant as Soumya had mentioned.

She approached Shreyansh, who was still awake, lost in thought. Their eyes met briefly before Shreyansh looked away.

" 'You should eat,""' she offered, reaching towards him.

"'I'm not hungry. If you are, you can eat,""' he replied in a slightly harsh tone, which hurt her.

"Nothing good is going to happen between us, it's better that we separate." she thought. She picked up both plates and left the room to put the food in the kitchen since she also didn't feel like eating...

" In a few minutes, Arya returned and noticed that Shreyansh was asleep. But as soon as he heard the sound of her anklets, he pretended to be asleep. Arya closed the door behind her and tiptoed closer to Shreyansh, realizing he was asleep. She stood there, watching him for a while, feeling a mix of emotions stirring inside her. She was mad at herself for hurting him, for betraying his trust. Part of her wondered about Yuvan and Ashvi, then thought of Shreyansh. She considered that maybe leaving his life would make everything better, that he could find happiness again. Lost in her thoughts and neglecting her own happiness, she silently retreated, grabbed a pillow, and headed to the balcony. Her heart felt heavy, and she couldn't bear to stay in the room...

"

Shreyansh was keeping a close eye on her every move. When he noticed she left the room and headed towards the balcony, he didn't appreciate it. '

"Wow, now she doesn't want to share a bed with me:",' he thought, unaware of the internal struggles she was going through - battling her demons of guilt and confronting the unsettling truth about her father and brother, which was shattering her mentally and leaving her feeling broken inside.

"Both of them are unaware that their miscommunication is escalating. Instead of addressing their issues through conversation, they are opting for passive-aggressive behavior towards each other. This misunderstanding is only getting worse.
